Open source is our culture

We don't just build on open source — we give back to it. Our engineers maintain projects, speak at conferences and host the communities that make open source thrive.

From a Belgian pioneer to a European team

Founded in Belgium in 2007 by Kris Kerremans, Inuits has grown from a local pioneer near Antwerp into an international team of 120+ professionals across Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.

Through this international collaboration we deliver advanced applications, cloud operations, and data & AI solutions. From logistics and government to broadcasting, space engineering and academia — everything we build is rooted in open source standards.

Roots in the DevOps movement

Our roots run deep into the very foundation of modern tech culture. Inuits early-adopter Kris Buytaert was one of the original instigators of the DevOps movement alongside Patrick Debois. Together, they organized the very first DevOpsDays in Ghent back in 2009 — a grassroots conference that has since exploded into 250+ events worldwide.

We’ve kept that momentum going ever since. Today, Kris is still a proud co-organizer of CfgMgmtCamp in Ghent, the premier European event for configuration management and infrastructure automation.

Security built into every line

In an era where compliance and security are paramount, we embed protection into every line of code. We embrace OWASP as a foundational pillar, ensuring our software engineering, data solutions and operations consistently meet the highest global standards for web application security and compliance.

An engineering-first, community-driven DNA

That engineering-first, community-driven DNA shapes our culture every single day. You’ll consistently find our teams — from Belgium to Poland — sharing knowledge, speaking and learning at major international tech conferences worldwide, from KubeCon and PyCon to leading Domain-Driven Design (DDD) events.

Monthly at Inuits

Thursday Talk

Once a month we get together for our Thursday Talk — to share experiences from real projects and dig into one topic together. It's how we keep learning from each other.
